  About Stand Up Paddles                              Pro B Standup Paddle

Standup paddles are really just very long canoe paddles.  Back around 4-5 years ago, I started getting calls from paddlers who wanted to standup and paddle on a surfboard, but couldn't find paddles long enuf.  What they would do was get an aluminum pole and buy a blade off of me, plug it in, and paddle!  Since then, the standup paddle thing has gone crazy, and everyone who wants to stand on water and get some exercise or just hang out and yak with their friends who are doing the same thing, is getting on board, so to speak.  

My own history is a long one of building and paddling with canoe paddles mad mostly of wood.  Several years ago, I began mixing up wood and carbon fibre and now I make some very pleasurable hybrid style paddles.  I build pretty  much any length canoe paddle -- which of course includes SU- paddles.
