 Wood Standup paddles

The Special -- all wood, laminated paddle with butternut and walnut wood laminates in blade, surrounded by double maple veneers so that all exposed end grain is protected.  Soft feel with good flex, around 32 ounces.  Shaft is reinforced with 2 ounce fiberglass where necessary.   $275   Shipping varies, but usually in the $25-30 range.

 ---       This paddle is a beautiful balance of wood and carbon fibre/kevlar!-- featuring a braided kevlar/carbon fibre shaft!   This is an ovalled shaft, that is virtually unbreakable.   These shafts are oriented,  so you can feel which way the blade is with your lower hand. That's just the shaft -- the blade is even cooler, with a curve on the lower half that pulls the blade into the water, anchoring it quickly, then grips the water with the soft pockets on either side of the spine on the powerface! There is no other paddle like this. At around 21 ounces, with a handshaped, contoured T grip (not just dowel, but a grip that is fashioned to be comfortable and to offer control). Blade is 17 long x 8.5"-- on paddle pictured. 10 degree angle at blade.      $340
